Have you ever woke up from a dream that was so real, that you were surprised to find that you were still only laying in bed? We have this amazing capacity to experience full-sensory, alternate realities inside of our minds every single night. This inner vision is active even while we are awake. For example, if you were to close your eyes now, and picture a field of sunflowers, you could envision the reality of being some where else entirely.

Some dismiss the power of the imagination as being unimportant, having no relevance in the physical world, when indeed the opposite is true. Everything human-made that you are experiencing now, from the clothes you are wearing, to the device you are reading this article on, even these words, were once only a figment of someone’s imagination.
To have a powerful third eye is to have a powerful imagination, capable of harnessing your highest inspirations. A developed third eye is said to also give one access to their intuition, and at more advanced levels, stronger psychic phenomenon such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, lucid dreaming, astral projection, and more. Awakening the third eye allows you to see through truth beyond the illusions of the world, and to channel in your soul’s wisdom.
What is the Pineal Gland?
If you’ve ever seen the Egyptian Eye of Ra, a chart of the chakras, or a bindi in the middle of someone’s forehead, you’ve seen cultural representations of knowledge of the importance of the pineal gland. Even the Catholic tradition practices a third eye cleansing annually with ash at Lent. Popular in cultures that span the centuries, the third eye of the modern Western world is finally awakening.

This special gland is revered for its biochemical and spiritual implications. Physically, it small, pine cone shaped, and located in the center of your head, nestled between the two hemispheres of the brain. However, it does not share the same protective isolation from the body that the rest of the brain does. This gland receives regular blood flow and exists outside the blood-brain barrier.
What Does It Do?
On a biological level, your pineal gland is a hormone making machine. It creates melatonin, and tells the body when it is time to sleep, and time to wake. Melatonin plays an important role in protecting against neurodegeneration, and may also aid in maintaining bone density. Research has shown that it communicates with the pituitary gland, to guide the production of growth and sex hormones, blood pressure, and metabolism.
On the spiritual level, it intersects the subtle energetic center known as the ajna, or third eye center. The French philosopher, Descartes, famous for his quote “I think, therefore I am” is also quoted saying that the pineal gland is “the seat of the soul”. Those well versed in spiritual wisdom would say that the ability to “see” with your third eye, is just as important as your ability to see with the ones that look out into the physical world.

5 Ways to Encourage Pineal Activation
1. Watch Your Chemical Intake
Since there is no filter between your pineal gland and your bloodstream, this delicate gland is exposed to all of the chemicals and heavy metals you may inadvertently take in when you eat, drink, or breath polluted matter. The human body is very resilient, but the pineal gland is small, and may require extra care to function at its best.
A condition called “calcification” can occur, where the pineal gland becomes hardened, and inhibited. In addition to a toxic diet, fluoride, a common additive to tap water, toothpaste, and dental treatments, is one of the largest causes of pineal calcification. Avoid it whenever possible. Switching to fluoride-free toothpaste, and adding filters to the taps in your house can help to minimize your exposure.
2. Cultivate Your Dream Life
Sleep is one of the most powerful tools for healing we have. Support your pineal gland by keeping a regular sleep cycle. Your pineal gland responds to levels of light in the room. Minimize your exposure to screens, and artificial light around bed time. This will help to signal melatonin production. Keeping your room completely dark when you sleep will maximize your melatonin, while small light, even from a digital alarm clock, or nightlight, will inhibit it.
In addition to utilizing Pineal Sleep Support, you can activate the psychic abilities of the pineal gland by keeping a dream journal, or even better, learning how to lucid dream. By cultivating a relationship with your dreams, you not only build the abilities of your pineal gland, but you also can gain deeper insight into yourself.
3. Yoga Poses for Third Eye Wellness
Perhaps no one has taken pineal wellness more seriously than the yogis. Thankfully, they have shared their insights with us to help us awaken our spiritual potential as well. We will leave this one to the experts at Yoga Journal for a full routine you can try at home.
4. Crystals that Stimulate the Pineal Gland
Many have experienced crystals as a wonderful, natural tool that can aid in the cultivation of psychic awareness. Use these stones at night by placing them under your pillow, or at your bedside to enhance your dreams. Otherwise, consider holding them, or laying down and placing them on your third eye to enhance your awareness as you focus on your third eye center.

Stones that are purple or indigo are known to boost this energy center. There are many to choose from, but we will recommend a few here. Consider picking up one or more of the following crystals:
Amethyst – This is one of the most popular stones for third eye activation and balance. It comes in rich and light shades of purple and white, and is readily available online and in most metaphysical shops.
Lapis Lazuli – This stone was precious to the ancient Egyptians, and is also stimulating to the crown and throat chakras. It is said to connect you to your highest self, and the wisdom of the cosmos.
Purple Fluorite – Swap fluoride for fluorite! This is a calming stone wards off negativity and depression, while encouraging mental balance and intuition.
5. Meditation
Meditate, meditate, meditate! At this point, meditation has been suggested for health as much as drinking water and eating your vegetables – because it is that important. If you choose to, you can add mantras to your meditations. The vibrations produced by chanting mantras can cause subtle vibrations throughout your brain, aiding in decalcification. Our Pineal Awakening program comes with access to an online meditation room to help you focus your mind, and center yourself for maximum benefit.
